On The Mend.....Time To Play

It is another beautiful day in Bogota! We decided to lay low one more day to ensure that I was over the bug. After breakfast and lunch it was fair to say that I am free from the chains of el bano....how liberating.
Juanita the cook has been taking good care of me making me rice, tea, and bananas. Although she still was emphatic about me finishing all the food, saying "todo, todo".
After lunch we decided to go to the park and throw the football around and play in the park. Once again Jacob and Camilla had a fun filled day playing with each other. We had asked Camilla's madre if she could come to the park with us and she approved, so off we went.
We found some leaves on the ground put them in Camilla's hair. She would not let me take her picture unless Jacob also had a leaf in his hair....hey whatever it takes.

Jacob was trying to jump high enough to grab the bar. He could touch it but couldn't quite grab it yet.

Camilla is just a little bit taller and had no problem. I think this is going to drive Jacob to be able to grab the bar before we leave Bogota.

This was the first time I have seen anyone go down a slide this way.

After the playing in the playground we tossed the football around. That Jacob can really throw good spiral. There are many dogs in the parks on Sunday as well as dog doodoo. Last week we witnessed a larger golden retriever lose his temper with a little lap dog. The owner and the golden were back to the park today and Jacob was able to play fetch a couple of times with him. Earlier a much younger retriever intercepted our football and ran off with it. After a little persuasion the owner was able to get our ball back, with the addition of some dog slime. The trouble did not end there. I was throwing the ball high above the trees when it became trapped between some branches. Camilla found a larger chunk of concrete and after several attempts to dislodge the ball with the concrete, the ball came falling to the ground.
For those of you who were wondering how we got our ball off of the hotel roof.... Let me introduce you to the magnificent Geirmo (sorry if I spelled the name wrong). He is the great rescuer of all balls at the hotel and so much more. He is also the evening security guard, serves us dinner with a big smile, and is quite the salsa dancer.

We ended the day with more of Juanita's stellar cooking. Plenty of pizza for all and good conversation among friends. Buenos Noches to all of our family and friends.
