Another beautiful sunny day in Bogota! Today only buses and taxis were allowed to travel the roads which made it much easier for us to walk to the Notary. We were accompanied by Isabel, Carmen (Isabel's niece), and Kristi (our wonderful Hotel Paris/Bogota mentor/tour guide). This was a necessary step prior to meeting with ICBF on February 8.
After our morning stroll, we sat down at Hotel Paris and ate lunch. We enjoyed tilapia, stir fry vegetables, and yellow rice. For dessert we had a fruit that we have never seen or tasted before. I can't remember the name but the day prior we saw Marta and Caroline eating fruit that looked like monkey brains. Dave was warned by Katya (the owner of the hotel) to stay away from it unless he needed help with going to the bathroom.
As you can see, Dave eagerly and willingly consumed this new fruit. Several hours later Katya's warning came true. I think Dave will pass the next time this fruit is offered to him. Oh well, sometimes you need to figure things out for yourself.
After lunch it was nap time. Luciana had a difficult time at first settling down for her nap....I wonder why?
As soon as Caroline and Jacob left her crib she was sound asleep. She loves her new blanket! (Thanks Ingrid.)
While Luciana slept it was time to get down to business. Unfortunately for Jacob he has to do school work. It didn't take too much convincing today to get him to sit down and focus because Caroline was not around to play.
The day just kept getting better for Jacob. It was a good thing that he has experience with feisty girl cousins so that he could somewhat stand his ground with his new amigas. At times I think he was frustrated with them but for some reason he kept going back for more.
It is amazing to watch these kids play. Jacob doesn't know any spanish, Caroline knows some english, and I am not sure how much english Camilla knows but they really did play well together. All in all it was another good day in Bogota.
Hi Tammy,
ResponderEliminarMy name is Stephanie Kammeraad. I don't know if Kristi VanderMaas has mentioned our family to you guys, but we are another Colombian Connection family from West Michigan! We are hoping to be able to travel to Colombia in the next week or two to meet our daughter, Maria, who is at Los Pisingos. We'll be staying at Hotel Paris as well. :)
So anyway, I just wanted to say how beautiful your family is! I can already tell what beautiful hearts you have by your posting. And Luciana is just precious! May I ask how old your son Jacob is? Our son Carlos is five and a half and it will be so nice for him to have someone to play with besides his new two year old little sister!
Blessings to your family, and hopefully we'll be meeting you in person very soon! :)
Stephanie
